Richard Hammond's Engineering Connections is a weekly show on BBC2, wherin the presenter, Richard Hammond, learns how engineers and designers use historic inventions and clues from the natural world in ingenous ways to develop new buildings and machines.
The show involves Richard Hammond looking at several areas of the modern development and learning — often from the designers of the development itself — from where they got the ideas that they use to bring the development to fruition.

Synopsis:
Richard Hammond sets out on a quest to find the amazing engineering connections behind the Airbus A380, the largest passenger airliner in history. His journey reveals that this state-of-the-art aircraft owes as much to weapons of war, Mother Nature and household objects as it does to high technology. He discovers that a bicycle pump, a 19th-century rocket, an ancient Mongolian bow and an eagle's wing are all hidden in its secret DNA.
